Diaper dermatitis part II.
Nappy rash treatment
Nappy rash can be a real worry for mums. Treatment requires time and patience, so don't expect visible miracles in two hours. The aforementioned 'worse' form of dermatitis often requires several weeks of treatment before the skin returns to its original condition. A proven remedy for nappy rash is herbs such as Agrimony. It has strong antibacterial and healing effects. Also suitable are herbs such as True Chamomile or Marigold. We treat with baths or compresses. We do not apply creams to the affected areas, and we do not use fabric softeners, aggressive detergents, bath foams and similar products for a certain period of time, as they do not help the healing process but worsen the condition of the skin.
How to avoid nappy rash?
How to prevent unpleasant nappy rash? Let's summarise a few tips that all mothers should follow:
- Frequent nappy changes, suitable nappies, appropriate nappy size for the baby's age.
Disposable nappies are more suitable for baby's skin due to their high absorption capacity than cloth nappies. However, if you have decided to use cloth nappies, make sure to use a gentle detergent for babies and always make sure that there is no detergent residue left on the nappy.
- Bathing, washing. Make sure that the cosmetics are suitable for sensitive baby skin. (Does not contain dyes, chemicals, artificial preservatives, parabens, perfumes....)
For everyday baby bathing, we recommend using Alteya Organics Baby Wash, which contains healing chamomile, calendula and rose essential oil.

- Nappy changing EVERY time.
