How to avoid prickly heat and not let it spoil your summer?
What are heat rash?
Heat rash can appear as a red rash or as small red bumps on the surface of the skin. They are usually sore and itchy, which tempts you to further disrupt the healing surface of the skin by scratching. Thus begins an endless vicious cycle.
Heat rash occurs when sweat ducts become clogged or blocked. When sweat leaks into the skin, small bumps or rashes form, which become inflamed around the leakage site. The small bumps turn red, are painful, and often itch. Although some of us are more prone to heat rash than others, everyone is susceptible to being affected by heat.

Even if the sun has never adversely affected you before, inadequate protection and skin care when exposed to UV radiation can expose you to heat rash. In some cases, bacteria can form on the skin and cause even greater irritation, especially in skin folds, such as behind the knees or in the bend of the arm. When heat rash appears in these areas, it can be extremely uncomfortable and irritating because the skin is constantly hot and producing sweat in these places.
Ako zabrániť vytváraniu potničiek?
Because sweating, which causes heat rash, is your body's natural reaction to heat, it's difficult to avoid both. Proven prevention is to avoid staying in the sun and wearing cool, loose and breathable clothing. It is important that the skin is sufficiently ventilated. Avoid wearing tight, non-breathable and synthetic materials and avoid layering clothes unnecessarily. A good choice is quality clothing from Slovak manufacturers, for example children's footed tights from peqne.sk
Ideally, keep the apartment ventilated and between 21-24°C (around 18°C at night).
Lavender water, rose water or chamomile water help to cool and soothe the skin. Spraying mist on the body, especially on problem areas such as behind the knees, when it is hot, will help minimise the appearance of bumps and rashes. Natural waters not only soothe the skin, but also provide perfect refreshment throughout the day, and their perfect effects on the skin can also be experienced in daily routines when cleansing the skin and solving problematic skin.
Keeping cool is one of the few ways to avoid a reaction to the sun.
