Ideas for activities in quarantine

Ideas for activities in quarantine

Instead of worrying, we can use the time to acquire new skills, pamper ourselves or our loved ones. Also, we're not creating this list as pressure to be productive every single moment, but rather as a suggestion on how to survive tough times without losing your mind. :)

  • Learn a new language or improve an old one

Perhaps it seems pointless right now, but we all believe that things will turn for the better. And who wouldn't want to improve their English, Spanish, Italian, Esperanto, or Klingon (no, I'm not kidding :D)? These and many other languages are offered by the simple mobile app Duolingo.

  • Treat yourself to a home wellness session

In the last article, we offered you a recipe for a natural balm. You even have enough time to try all the samples of cosmetic products that are piling up at home. All luxury spa lovers rejoice. Thanks to the quarantine, all you need to do is run a bath, light some candles and enjoy all the lengthy bathroom processes undisturbed. :)

  • Take a virtual tour of famous museums

Explore Egyptian relics in the Louvre, the famous spiral staircase of the Guggenheim Museum in New York or enjoy a virtual tour of the famous Villa Tugendhat and you don't even have to leave your living room. :)

  • Make a scented candle.

    1. Place soy wax (approximately 50 g) in a bowl and melt it. Place the bowl in a pan filled to a third with water. (You can also heat in one-minute intervals in the microwave.)
    2. Heat the wax, stirring occasionally, until it is soft and liquid. Add 5-10 drops of fragrance oil (such as one from the Bio Alteya essential oil gift set) and let the wax cool.
    3. Insert the wick into the container. Pour a small amount of wax into the centre of the container. Twist the wick into the container until it touches the wax, and make sure you have enough wick at the top. Hold the wick in place until the wax hardens, so that it remains vertical.
    4. Stir the wax to make sure it is not lumpy, and pour it into the container. Leave some space at the top. You can let the excess wax harden for future use. Leave to harden overnight, trim the wick, and your candle is ready. :)
