Candles
They are a popular type of decorative item that can be used to add atmosphere and fragrance to indoor spaces. Candles are usually made from wax that is solid at room temperature and can be made from a variety of materials including beeswax, soy wax and paraffin wax. The wax is melted and poured into a container or mold, and a wick is inserted into the center of the wax.
When the wick is lit, the heat from the flame melts the wax and causes it to evaporate, releasing a pleasant aroma into the air. Some candles are scented with essential oils, others with synthetic scents. It is important to use candles safely to prevent fires or other accidents.
Tips for safe candle use:
1. Always keep candles away from flammable materials such as curtains, furniture or paper.
2. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
3. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
4. Use candlesticks or other candle containers to prevent wax from spilling or dripping onto surfaces.
5. Always set the wick to ¼ inch before lighting to prevent too large a flame.
6. Do not burn the candles for more than 4 hours at a time.
