Alteya Organics was founded in 1999, but caring for roses has been a family tradition for over 100 years.
The scientific team has been researching ancient traditional recipes for years, while also improving them to meet the skincare needs of modern, ecologically conscious people.
At Alteya Organics, rose oil is cultivated from the precious Damask rose, with a unique rich chemical composition and a deep, multi-layered fragrance, near the town of Kanzalak in Bulgaria. In the area known as the Rose Valley, almost half of the world's rose oil is produced. A mild climate and favourable temperatures in February and March, high humidity in May and June, and sandy forest soil contribute to the quality of the plants.
The rose water used for steam distillation has exceptionally high quality and purity. It is drawn from an underground thermal river flowing through granite rock 80 m below the ground.
Organic roses are grown according to the USDA, a strict National Organic Program, without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or other harmful additives.
The harvesting of roses is a demanding and laborious process that is carried out exclusively by hand.Timing is also essential, because in order to obtain the highest quality oil, the fields must be harvested before the sun shines too brightly and evaporates the precious oil.
The fresh flowers are immediately transported to the distillery, where the distillation process begins. The process is supervised by experts in order to preserve the therapeutic properties of the plant. Every step of the process and every output is strictly monitored and tested to ensure the highest possible quality.
Detailed inspection is also ensured by third-party laboratories.
Every ingredient found in Alteya Organics products must meet strict quality criteria. They do not use parabens, petrolatum, paraffin, colourings, mineral oils and other preservatives.
Rose oil kills acne-causing bacteria in as little as five minutes. As a bactericide, it can cleverly treat wounds, prevent infection and at the same time leaves the skin permeable so that the skin absorbs more nutrients.
Rose oil also helps with depression, common anxiety disorders, wards off melancholy and increases sexual appetite by balancing secreted hormones.
