Roller and guasha are tools used to massage the face and promote skin health. Here's how to properly use a jade roller and guasha on your face:
- Preparation:
- Make sure your face and tools are clean. Wash your face with a mild cleanser and dry it thoroughly.
- You can also apply a moisturizer or serum to the face to improve the slipperiness.
- Roller:
- The roller consists of two rollers - one smaller one for the area around the eyes and nose and the other larger one for the rest of the face.
- Start with the smaller roller and gently run it up and down the outer sides of both eyes. Repeat this several times.
- Then move to a larger roller and massage the entire face in upward movements. Use gentle pressure, but not too strong so as not to damage the skin.
- Try to avoid massaging skin that is too thin and sensitive, such as the area around the eyes, and focus more on the forehead, cheeks and jawline.
- Repeat the movements for 5 to 10 minutes. You can do this in the morning and evening, or according to your preference.
- Guasha:
- The guasha is a flat instrument with rounded edges.
- Apply oil or cream to the face to improve slipperiness.
- Hold the guasha in a light hand and start from the centre of the face, moving outwards and upwards.
- Apply gentle pressure and pull the guasha over different areas of the face - for example, the forehead, cheeks, neck and chin.
- Hold the tool at a 15-45 degree angle to the skin surface for optimal results.
- Repeat each move 3-5 times.
