Henna BIO Radico 100g
Henna is actually a tropical plant of the cycad family (Lawsonia inermis or White Henna), 2-6 metres in length. It looks like a shrub with light green oblong leaves. It grows in the tropics and subtropics of southern Asia, Africa and Oceania. The term henna is often used today as a generalization for all natural colours. However, the hue of henna itself is orange/mahogany.
Henna is not just a color. It's a healing ritual that envelops your hair in a previously unknown care. Shiny, strong, healthy on the outside and inside. That's what your hair will be when you combine it with nature instead of artificial and chemical products.
In addition to red highlights, henna will give your hair strength, protect it from falling out, dandruff or split ends.
The henna powder itself can be used both for stand-alone colouring and as a hair treatment. No additional application aids are included in this pack.
How to use the paint correctly?
- 20-30 g of powder for short hair
- 40-60 g shoulder length hair powder
- 70-100 g of powder for long hair
- Mix the optimum amount of powder with hot water in a ratio of 1:3 (1 part powder to 3 parts water). Alternatively, you can add water or powder to achieve a consistency similar to yoghurt or ketchup. The mixture must not be too thick or too thin.
- Always apply the colour to freshly washed and dried hair (it doesn't have to be completely dry, but at least slightly dry). Start at the roots of the hair and work your way down the length of the hair. Always apply the colour immediately after mixing. It shouldn't be completely hot (so you don't scald your scalp), but definitely the warmer it gets on your hair the better. For grey hair, a slightly heavier coat of colour should be used.
- After application, cover the hair ideally with a cap and a towel on top. It is necessary to stay as warm as possible. At the same time, heat, for example from a hairdryer, can be used to intensify the effect.
- Leave the colour on for at least 60 minutes. If you want to achieve a darker shade or cover grey hairs, we recommend a longer leave-on time. The colour may need to be on the hair for 2 - 3 hours. Since it is only plants, you don't have to worry about your hair.
- After the desired exposure time, wash the paint under warm running water until the water is clear and free of discolouration. There is no need to use shampoo or other preparations. The colour will take care of itself. Next, blow dry or style your hair as you are used to.
On average, the colour lasts 2-3 weeks. With long term colouring, the time increases.
Tips and important information on coloring:
The colour effectively covers grey hairs from the very first application. Keep in mind, however, that the resulting shade may be slightly lighter than hair with pigment. The colour palette in the product gallery serves as an illustration.
If you have a large amount of grey or white hair, it is recommended to do two rounds of colour application 24 hours apart.
Keep in mind that the colour is purely natural. So if you want to change your natural hair shade, a little patience is needed. The shade will realistically start to change after a few times of application. The colour does not penetrate into the hair structure, but forms a thin shell around the hair shaft. The thicker the wrap, the more pronounced the resulting shade. For example, if you have dark angry hair and want to achieve a burgundy shade, you may only see reddish highlights at first. After a few repetitions, the burgundy shade will already be more pronounced.
Expect the colour to continue to develop for a few days after application. Darkening, to be precise. So wait at least 3 days, when the shade will be final.
If you've dyed your hair with chemical dyes before, expect that it may take a while to achieve the desired shade with Radico. Nature can handle the chemistry, but it takes time. You can initially make 2-3 applications in a row within 24 hours of each other.
Keep in mind that the resulting colour always depends on your natural hair colour too.
