The active ingredient here is D-alpha-tocopheryl succinate, a biologically well-utilised form of vitamin E. 1 capsule contains 330 mg of vitamin E (400iu) - 2750% of the reference intake value for vitamins and minerals.
The vitamin E contained in the supplement is extracted from soybean oil. There are a total of 8 naturally occurring forms of vitamin E, alpha, beta, gamma and delta forms of tocopherol and tocotrienol, which are often synthesized by plants from homogentisic acid. Vitamin E occurs naturally in foods such as nuts, olive oil, leafy greens or avocados. Supplementation may be appropriate when under increased stress.
Vitamin E is fat-soluble, meaning the body stores it and builds up reserves. Vitamin E does not have an optimal effect without the presence of vitamin C, B2, selenium and glutathione; it is dependent on these substances.
